WBCML Annual Report for 2006:

ACHIEVEMENTS:

• Washington County’s share for Capital Improvement continued at the previous year’s total of $113,971.
• Received $70,510 in revenue for Public Charges for Services.
• Increased the number of Registered Borrowers by 5.51% between 1/1/05 and 12/31/05 (from 49,443 to 52,170).
• Circulated 589,632 items during 2005. 231,510 of these materials went to County Residents without a library (39.26% of total WB Circulation). This is from a county-wide total of 416,996 items circulated to that classification of patron during that period (55.12%).
• Experienced a 10.72 % increase over 2005 in registered participants for the Summer Reading Program (from 1464 to 1621 readers).
• Expanded Outreach Services to include facilities in Germantown.
• Received a $400 grant to provide more books for Spanish-speaking library patrons.
• Represented the library at state, system, county and city levels through committee work, board membership, volunteer opportunities and as a grant reviewer (Wisconsin Library Association, Mid-Wisconsin Federated Library System, SRLAAW, LITAC,  WACCOOL, United Way of Washington County, Junior Achievement, and Program Based Budget committee for West Bend School District (110 meetings during 2005).
• Hosted the AAUW’s annual book sale.
• The library’s meeting rooms were used for non-library events on 124 occasions.

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS/BENCHMARKS:

2007 GOALS:

• Become a member of a five county, 44 library shared automation system known as LSMW (Lake Shores Mid-Wisconsin). This should be realized by mid-January 2007.
• Increase overall Circulation Statistics by 3%.
• Improve revenue collected for Public Charges for Services by 1.7%.
• Expand the number of Registered Borrowers by 3%.
• Raise the number of times the library’s Meeting Rooms are used by 2%.

• Enhance the AV collections ( DVD and Books on CD) by 5%.
• Begin implementing the updated Long Range Plan
• Organize a Friends of the Library group.
• Increase the number of registered participants in the Summer Reading Program by 3%
• Expand Outreach Services to include homebound residents in Kewaskum.
